  1. Recommend the use of a hard faced metal spray polish rod.
  2. Recommend the use of a Harbison Fisher alignment tool and to have the stroking unit lined up within its parameters.
  3. Must use a polish rod bullet while installing, so that the seals are not damaged upon installation.
  4. Tighten initially as tight as you can get it with the rods provided and after it has been stroking for 10 – 15 minutes.
  5. Retighten with rods after 1 day after installation (should tighten up another 1 – 2 turns after the first day).
  6. Check weekly with tightening rods.
  7. If stuffing box begins to leak after tightening with rods and continues to leak use two pipe wrenches to get it tighter. May need to be changed out at this point.
PROPER ALIGNMENT OF STROKING UNIT WITHIN THE PERAMETERS OF THE ALIGNMENT TOOL IS VERY CRUCIAL FOR EXTENDED RUN LIFE OF THE SCOPE SURE SEAL STUFFING BOX.
